Engagement Options

BECKER SUNNER CONSULTING has several engagement options, depending on the type of project and requirements. BSC are also pre-qualified on several Local Buy panels, to make Local Government engagements straight-forward and compliant.

  • Some project phases are able to be well defined with a known scope. In these instances, we recommend a lump sum engagement to provide you with certainty. BSC will provide an offer of services confirming our understanding of the scope and deliverables, outlining our fees for undertaking the work and indicating expected timing. Once the offer is accepted and returned, we will confirm timing and important dates. Monthly invoices will be issued based on the progression of the project during that month.

Project-based, Fixed Fee

  • BSC understands that you may need expert and timely advice on engineering, infrastructure or development issues ad-hoc and time constraints might not allow for the offer of services process. BSC’ priority retainer services gives you immediate access to our expertise and representation through the up-front payment of an agreed amount, which is progressively used at an agreed hourly rate as time is spent with you and your project. BSC will provide monthly statements outlining the time spent that month and the remaining balance, which is yours to use as needed or until the end of the agreed period. The priority retainer service ensures that you receive our services, as it states, as a priority, so is ideal for those who want the ability to have discussions, emails, written advice or meeting representation on a range of projects or issues at short notice.

Ad-hoc and ongoing

  • In the instances where the exact scope, timing or deliverables are uncertain, an hourly rate (time-basis) engagement is the recommended option. BSC will provide an offer of services confirming the known aspects of a project or service, outlining the applicable hourly rate for the provision of the service along with an estimation of the overall fee based on the known details at that point in time. Once the offer is accepted and returned, we will confirm timing and commencement. Communication regarding scope variation/extensions and timing will be clear and in writing throughout the project. Monthly invoices will be issued for payment with a breakdown of the work undertaken during that month.
